Introducing Mill Creek Chiropractor Dr. David Gilbertson

Mill Creek Chiropractor, Dr. David Gilbertson

“I've been under chiropractic care since I was about 14 years old” remembers Dr. David Gilbertson.  “My parents and two older sisters went to the chiropractor and when I had a wrestling injury that left me with pain and numbness in the right arm my parents made an appointment to see Dr. John Rasmussen, our family chiropractor.”

"It was mid-season so getting well rather soon was very important.  I responded very well to the care and within a short time was feeling back to normal.  After that when I had problems I would go see Dr. Rasmussen."

Dr. Gilbertson began his pre-chiropractic education at ECC, where he studied the basic sciences such as inorganic chemistry, biology, chemistry, along with basic physiology and anatomy courses.

After completing his study there, he was accepted at Palmer College of chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.  During his four years at Palmer, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, x-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Palmer College public clinic.  After graduating in 1981, Dr. Gilbertson returned to Washington State where he initially interned with a doctor north of Marysville.  In 1984 he relocated to Mill Creek and established his current practice.

"Having been a patient, I understand the concerns and questions that many people have when they come to the chiropractor for the first time.  We make a point to explain everything in advance, answer questions and attempt to make sure we cover everything the patient could be thinking about or be concerned about.  Patients appreciate that."

Dr. Gilbertson is married to Marilyn and they have three children, Brandon, Jonny and Mykayla.  The youngest child was actually born at home and the children have all had preventative chiropractic care from the time they were very young.  As a result, they have required very little medical care over the years and have experienced very good overall health.

"Thank you for visiting our site.  I hope it can be a source of hope and healing.  If you have any questions, please call me or click on the E-mail the Doctor at the bottom of every page."

Dr. David Asks some important questions of interest to Mill Creek residents - Chiropractor Mill Creek Dr. David Asks...

What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
Do nerves actually get pinched?
Chiropractors recognize two types of nerve disorders involved in vertebral subluxation complex. The least common is a pinched nerve that diminishes nerve supply to an affected organ or tissue. More common is the irritated nerve (facilitative lesion) which overexcites nerve communications to an affected organ or tissue. Chiropractic care has been shown to help with both types.
